Getting to the Conference
We encourage our delegates to use public transport or sustainable and active modes of travel when getting to and from TPM. If you need further help with your journey planning, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the PTRC for assistance!
Oxford Station is conveniently located a half mile from the city centre and 0.9miles from The Examination Schools. The station is fully accessible and has step free access. Staff assistance is available seven days a week, please contact a member or staff if you have not had a chance to book assistance in advance.
Oxford station is well connected and has direct service from London, Reading, Birmingham, Manchester and Crew, with easy access from most other part of the UK.
We recommend booking early to secure the best deal. We recommend Trainline.com to secure the best rates.
There are several affordable coach options to get you to and from Oxford. Perhaps best well known is the Oxford Tube, but there are plenty of other services to keep you connected. Take a look at The Oxford Bus Company or National Express to find out which route works best for you!
We generally encourage delegates to opt for a sustainable or active modes of travel when making their way to TPM and this year is no exception; we are encouraging even more strongly that you leave your car at home. Oxford parking is notoriously bad and limited within the city centre. However, if you are keen, we suggest pooling in and making your way early in order to secure a spot. Take a look at the Oxford City Website or Parkopedia to plan your journey.
That being said, if any of you are brave enough to jump on your bike for the journey, we would be highly impressed. The journey from London to Oxford is a cool six hours, but we bet the route is stunning.
If you do cycle in, the first round is on us!
