We specialise in training and staging events on all matters relating to transport and travel planning for consultants, local authorities, government bodies and universities in the UK and overseas. We have developed a range of technical courses that are likely to appeal to newer engineers, planners and technicians, including those who have been recruited from a non-technical background. We offer a variety of training and education formats, from evening lecture series such as the “Principles of Traffic and Transport”, to one and two-day public courses like “Planning Public Transport Services”.
Aimsun is an international team of technologists, scientists, and transportation engineers with a singular focus on solving the world’s most complex mobility problems: modeling the interaction of public and private vehicles; simulating the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning; testing autonomous vehicles; or offering insights into smarter multi-modal transportation choices.
We have two high-performance software applications: Aimsun Next is a fully-integrated modeling platform simulating future traffic patterns by representing individual needs and available transportation options; Aimsun Live is a decision support tool used to predict traffic outcomes by simulating projected conditions based on historical and real-time feeds.
Our UK licensees include government agencies such as Transport for London, Transport for Greater Manchester and the City Councils of Southampton, Sheffield, Bradford and Leicester; leading consultancies such as Parsons Brinckerhoff and Arup; academic users and research partners include the universities of Coventry, Glasgow, Leeds, Wolverhampton.

Oxford City Council
Oxford is a city successfully moving towards sustainable transport. We have introduced the UK’s first extensive Low Emission Zone outside of London with the aim of reducing air pollution.
Building on this, we have put forward proposals to introduce the world’s first Zero Emission Zone in Oxford city centre, raising our aspirations for a truly clean and green city. We are working to support local people and businesses to adapt to zero emission transport.
We are delivering a major trial of on-street residential EV chargers, installing rapid EV chargers across the city for plug-in taxis, and working with bus companies to fund cleaner buses for Oxford – as well as cleaning up our own fleet; swapping 30 ICE vehicles for LEVs in both our pool and operational fleet.

The Transport Planning Society
A society to facilitate, develop and promote best practice in transport planning and provide a focus for dialogue between all those engaged in it, whatever their background or other professional affiliation.
Urban Movement is a transport planning and street design practice that specialises in handling the many, different and often competing demands for movement in towns and cities. We do this in ways that both respond to and influence land use, that respect the built environment, and that help create places people enjoy. We never take design solutions ‘off-the-peg’, because we know that an understanding of the local context is an essential driver of the best design response.
Though small, we have significant expertise and experience in transport planning, traffic engineering, landscape architecture and urban design. Our current portfolio includes a wide range of project types in a variety of different types of place, like Wembley, Romford and Ealing in London, and Glasgow, Newcastle and North Berwick.
